As a top Twitter business user, I was sent an advance copy of the Twitter Power System for my review. Here are my observations.

The Twitter Power System is a very comprehensive set of videos, e-books, resources and tools.

New users learn how to set up an account and all the basics they need to get going. Experienced users learn how to craft powerful tweets, how to create viral tweets — and everything in-between.

Twitter Power System Content

Thirteen videos in the Twitter Power System learning center provide a total of three hours and 32 minutes of instruction:

  1. Account Setup - for new and even experienced Twitter users
  2. Twitter Basics - a how-to guide with the essentials for newbies
  3. Account Automation - using SocialToo and Tweet Later, two automation tools I love, and some important caveats
  4. Targeting Your Followers - how to target and use techniques such as sampling and testing
  5. Managing Your Followers - using FriendOrFollow, My Tweeple and Twitter Karma to manage followers.
  6. Tracking Your Twitter Links - how to use Cligs to shorten and track your Twitter links
  7. “Crafting” Your Tweets - the four elements of a tweet and how they all work together
  8. Finding Information to Share - using Google Alerts and other tools to discover useful information you can share
  9. Post on Autopilot - create your own content automation tool using Google Alerts, Cligs and Twitter Feed
  10. How to Use Twhirl - a desktop client such as Twhirl can offer greater convenience and capabilities than accessing Twitter directly from the Twitter.com domain.
  11. How to Use TweetDeck - ditto for TweetDeck.
  12. The Bigger Picture - a Twitter review that ties everything together
  13. Retweet System - creating viral tweets that can be retweeted easily with only two mouse clicks

E-workbooks such as the Getting Started Quickly Guide, Harness The Power of Twitter and the Twitter Power Tools Guide contain a total of 205 pages that serve to complement and reinforce the video presentations.

They discuss many useful strategies and the third-party tools that facilitate the implementation of those strategies.

There’s also a 54-minute podcast, Twitter Unwrapped, to download and enjoy on your computer or iPod. This interview with James Rivers, the founder of the Twitter Power System provides an excellent audio overview of the system.

Twitter Power System Thumbs-Up

I myself have written Twitter articles and spent much time studying and compiling Twitter resources for my article, Tons of Great Twitter Resources. Knowing much about the Twitter content available online, I can enthusiastically recommend the Twitter Power System to you.

I’d like to see greater detail in the varying approaches to meeting different business needs. I’d also like to see case studies. Nevertheless, the Twitter Power System is the best training venue I’ve seen so far.

I’m very impressed by the content and the quality of the videos, and I’ve already picked up ideas from them that are helping me to refine and improve my Twitter methodology.

This sound nice but aren’t these products, systems and books turning into those late night infomercials on how to get in shape quickly? Who watches those and takes them seriously?

I am not stating this does not have any value but in my mind these systems are loosing Twitter’s respect and the serious appeal due to the high volume of the get rich quick “Twitter Guru’s” out there that have made a quick buck off of selling how to gain a bunch of followers, yet leaving out the fact there is only a 40% retention rate on Twitter. This is why some CEO’s and Professionals see it as a time waister.

What I would like to see is a system or tool that helps Twitter retain more than 40% of their users. For someone interested in doing this… have a good reputation, seek out your followers and simply ask for donations from the masses of Twitter Marketers to fund it.

A system like this would help Twitter and all the users while helping everyone that is on there for business reach a higher audience and network much more effectively.

I am interested in seeing how the “Power System” works in its entirety. When I logged on to the web address I was disappointed since all I got was some bullets and a tease.

In conclusion to this rant and those who are still reading, when a system like mentioned above is implemented I will be truly WOW’d.

    Hi Heather,

The Twitter Power System hasn’t been released yet. As I mentioned in my review, I received an advance copy and access to Twitter Power System’s learning center.

I believe that my description of the system was pretty thorough.

As far as solving Twitter’s attrition problem, it’s not going to happen. If you read The 80/20 Rule, you’ll understand why not.

If we could eliminate Twitter’s attrition, we’d be able to do the same for colleges, health clubs, diets, etc.

Most people drop out of lots of things. To understand why I think this is so, refer to Personal Development: The Law of Belief

Thank you for your comment. Keep the faith!

    Hi Larry!

Twitter was smart to send you an advanced copy. Your stamp of approval will go a long way in building confidence in the minds of potential purchasers. I don’t know what they plan on charging for the “Power System Reveiw” but after your commentary, I’d be interested in buying it. Thanks, Larry, for this information.

Very interesting post Larry. I’m interested to see how it would compare to Bill Crosby’s Twitter Traffic Machine.

You make a great point as well. People, in nature, will drop out of something if they don’t see “instant gratification”. I believe that the media FUELS a lot of this by advertising that “Money controls EVERYTHING”. This only leads to the successes of businesses like Casinos, Lottery, and “get-rich-quick” schemes because people let their sub-conscious minds believe it is possible for a short time. Then, when reality sets in, they don’t see as much progress as was first promised to them, and less money is present in their bank account.

Sorry to get off the subject, Great review!

    Jeff

@Deb Just for the record, the training resource is called Twitter Power System, and it was sent to me by James Rivers and his associates, not Twitter.

@Jeff Not just get rich quick… get smart quick, get fit quick, lose weight quick, etc.

    Heather,

PEOPLE watch those infomercials AND take them seriously. I agree, some of them are all HYPE and CLEVER marketing, but some of them promote REALLY GOOD products.

Diane Hochman says that watching infomercials is some of the BEST training a marketer can take advantage of. Instead of discounting infomercials as a “SCAM”, why not study and learn from the ones that have survived the “test of time” and implement the strategies into your own marketing campaign?

    I know you’ll enjoy it.

Thank you very much Larry, and thank you for the plug.

This comes at a great time because I need another system to compare to the Tweeter Getter and the Twitter Traffic Machine for my newest Twitter campaign. Look for it to come soon! I hope to get in with the JV program as well.

    Jeff,

Once you go through the Twitter Power System you’ll see that it’s based on solid principles, not gimmicks.

    Enjoy!

Ladies and gentlemen, it was a pleasure reading all of your comments! :) From a person that has purchased Twitter Traffic Machine, Twitter Power System offers a lot more.

I used the techniques in Twitter Traffic Machine to acquire almost ten thousand people in weeks time, however, it put me in the Twitter dog house for being too aggressive of a follower.

People, please be very careful about using any auto following programs! This can not be over stressed. There are many people getting Twitter accounts suspended or hindered, meaning they will mysteriously find themselves loosing or having hundreds or even thousands of people being unfollowed from your account by Twitter.

Twitter is getting very strict with there own guidelines regarding aggressive following. Please read Twitter policies regarding, it will save you a lot of trouble in the future.

I lost around 4 thousand followers because of my “aggressive following” I was never a “spammer”, NEVER. I just became so obsessed with Twitter and wanted to have more friends, that’s all.

I met a lot of cool people! :) So, it hurt me initially to see what I experienced with my Twitter account. But it was a lesson learned. Fortunately for me, Twitter apparently reviewed my account activities closely enough to see that I was NOT a spammer and had legitimate activities and relationships with my followers, so they spared me from an account suspension.

Learn all you can about Twitter etiquette and stay within the terms of service and keep in mind, Twitter is a free service. As for me, I now do mostly everything manually. I will use certain services but no auto following services. Twitter like Google as a sophisticated secret formula or algorithm that they use to “Flag” certain account users.

Auto-following programs are steroids to the Twitter world which can get you into trouble. You will have friends that use them and there accounts were not suspended yet, personally I would not take that chance besides, I am more interested in building quality not quantity now.

With those auto following programs, I discovered there were a lot of people following that were not viable Twitter users. I had multiple accounts from the same person, and a lot of spam followers.

Learning from the Twitter Power System the keys to using and building your tribe or community. Don’t get caught up in the numbers, be more interested in who is following you, better quality of followers.

I hope this was a useful comment.
